Actun Tunichil Muknal Cave
Hidden in the depth of the forest you will find an ancestral wonder, which hides the caves where the glass maiden rests; the remains of a teenage girl, which, due to the calcification of the bones, the skeleton has a shining appearance. ATM caves are a natural beauty that you should not miss.
Itinerary (1 Day)
At 7:30am the driver will pick you up at the hotel lobby to take you to the starting point. After a 45-minute walk through the cool tropical rainforest and along 3 streams, you will reach the entrance of the cave where you swim 10 meters to a rock platform. The next 600ms are full of sharp and slippery edges and water, in some areas you will have to swim. Then you will walk without shoes through sacred ground.
On the way you will see ceramics left by the Mayas, remains of people who were sacrificed to the gods. At the end of the cave you will see the Lady of Crystal, a young woman of 20 years old; with time her remains were cemented to the ground in a brown calcite shell. Picnic lunch at the site. Return to the hotel in the afternoon.
